Russian is not on the language list
Metro 2039 does not list Russian. Steam’s supported-languages field for app 2590240, captured 16 October 2026, has 15 languages and no Russian entry. Deep Silver’s FAQ language list also leaves it out. The publisher has not explained the omission and has not promised to add it later.
I copied the Steam language string instead of paraphrasing a forum title. Full audio is marked with an asterisk on that page. Czech, Turkish, and Korean had no asterisk in the capture. The publisher has summarized the set as 10 voiced languages plus more interface languages. Those two wordings are not identical. The overlap that matters here is the gap: Russian is in neither. Metro Exodus on Steam did include Russian with full audio, which is why the absence is loud.
The Steam list we captured
English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Czech, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Simplified Chinese, Spanish (Latin America), Turkish, Ukrainian, Korean, and Traditional Chinese. Asterisks on the store page mark full audio for most of those, not for Czech, Turkish, or Korean in this capture.
Setting a game in Moscow does not add a language row. The row is either on the list or it is not. Russian coverage after pre-orders opened reported the same gap. That coverage is not the list itself.
