No Switch 2 announcement for Metro 2039

Metro 2039 has no Switch or Switch 2 announcement. Deep Silver’s platform list is PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A Switch 2 version is unannounced. That is not an official statement that one will never exist.

I compared the official platform FAQ with the Steam platform flags and the Nintendo listing people mix in, which is Metro 2033 Redux, a 2020 Switch release of an older game. The box art and the year are different. I am not going to call a Redux page a 2039 port.

What exists on Nintendo hardware

The Metro games that did reach Nintendo are earlier releases, including Metro 2033 Redux on Switch. They are not a preview build of 2039 and they do not share this release date.

If 4A or Deep Silver add a Nintendo version, it will show up on their platform list. Until that sentence exists, a rumor video is not a port.

Questions

Did Nintendo announce Metro 2039?

No announcement was on the official 2039 pages checked on 16 October 2026.

Is the Switch Redux game the same story?

Redux is a remaster of Metro 2033. Metro 2039 is a later game with a different protagonist.

Could a Switch 2 version still happen?

It could. Nothing official rules it out, and nothing official confirms it.
